People who live in places in the north, where the winters are very cold, are often looking for places to go for warm winter vacations. If you are tired of the cold weather, and are looking for a place to escape to with some warm weather instead for your winter vacations, then consider Key West in Florida.

Florida’s climate is warm all year round, even in the winter months. Key West is a haven for snowbirds and beach bums alike. In fact Key West is one of the best winter beach vacation destinations you could choose. Picture it; white sandy beaches, sunshine, relaxing in the sun – what bliss!

Key West is situated not far from Miami, in fact just a half hour away by car. This makes it very easy for anybody to get to. Numerous world class holiday resorts can be found here, and opportunities for a fun warm winter vacation abound. As well as lying in the sun on the beach, getting a golden tan, there are so many fun things to do here.

To entertain yourself when you aren’t on the beach, there are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops you can explore. This is a great spot for the water sports enthusiast, too. If fishing is your thing, then you can charter a boat and visit some of the top spots for fishing to be found anywhere in the country. You can also have a go at kite surfing, parasailing and wakeboarding, if you’re feeling adventurous.

For those qualified in scuba diving, there are some excellent dive sites in Key West, sure to provide some great underwater thrills. If you are not yet qualified but would like to give scuba diving a try, then you can book yourself some lessons with one of the many instructors in the area who can help you to gain certification. For another type of underwater thrill, how about booking yourself in for a shark diving tour, on which you can encounter a variety of shark species, including hammerheads and great whites.

That’s not all there is to do on your warm winter vacation in Key West, because if you like night life, you can enjoy delicious cocktails at one of the many pubs and bars there are to be found here. Or how about a plate of oysters accompanied by your favorite variety of beer? For the partygoer, check out the area’s many bars and night clubs, where you can party on with large numbers of locals and tourists alike in a great atmosphere.

If you want to choose Florida’s Key West for your warm winter vacation, you can get there by car, plane or by sea. If you are driving, travel on Highway 1 which takes you all along the United States’ Atlantic coast.

So you can see that there are lots of reasons why Key West is in fact one of the top choices for warm winter destinations. For warmer weather in the winter, and an escape from the cold, Key West is an excellent location.
