Before entering the Old Lahaina Luau, you have to make yourself available to talk to certain people and make reservations. This event is not just another event wherein you can come and go as you please. Therefore, for you to be accommodated, reservation is a must. When reserved, you are assigned with your respectable seats. Seating arrangements are assigned according to the priority of reservations made and when it was confirmed. Mind you, this is one party that you wouldn’t miss and other won’t too. That is why you have to grab that chance to be the first on the list to be given the opportunity of choosing which seat are you comfortable in. You can have seats directly in front or be assigned on the regular seats which are not bad at all. It is important to note that the seating arrangements must be met in order to make the visitors feel that it’s worth the stay.
The rates to be accommodated are as follows: in adults, the price will be $85 while in children it will be $55. Cancellations are accepted only if you made it on an earlier notice which will be at the 10 in the morning. These does not include groups of 15 persons or more and whenever cancellations are made, the price will still exist.
Different activities during the evening include:
“Greeting” here, guests are welcomed through a program where lei are hanged on the visitors, personalized souvenirs and tropical drinks are given. Hosts escort guests to their reserved seats and give them a short introduction of the Luau grounds. On the other hand, islanders demonstrate different traditional crafts and arts of the island.
“Presentation of the Imu” visitors and guests are thrilled as they gather to see the Kalua pig being unearthened from the underground oven which is also known as “imu”.
“Feasting” there are tons of dishes that are presented to the guests which includes fresh tossed salad, Poi, Chicken Long Rice, Lau Lau, sweet potato, Kalua pork, and many more.
