Although the daily activities of Maui are exciting and enjoyable, the nightlife on Maui is just as exhilarating. Whether you are looking for dining, dancing, music, culture, or even more tourist attractions this island comes alive after dark.
Before you head out for the night, you want to make one stop first. The summit of Haleakala, Maui’s only active volcano, provides an amazing area in which to view a stunning Maui sunset. You can stay for a little while and enjoy the stargazing you can see. If you want to stay in town to see the sunset and stars, you may wan to enjoy the “Tour of the Stars” which is offered by the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort. Featuring Hawaii’s only recreational telescope you can join others on the rooftop to take in the spectacular views of both the stars and the island.
If the water is more your style, then you can experience an after dark snorkeling dive to see the eels, manta rays and other tropical fish that always want to come out at night. There are many nighttime dive outfits that will allow you to either snorkel or scuba dive after dark. But if you would rather not get wet before you head out onto the town, you can enjoy the Aquarium After Dark program that is offered at the Maui Ocean Center.
A vacation to Hawaii would not be complete with an authentic luau celebration which is held at various resorts and throughout Maui. One of the best luau celebrations is the Old Lahaina Luau which is set on the beautiful beach in the center of Lahaina. There you will eat plenty of food, partake in as much alcohol or non-alcoholic drinks, all while watching the hula dancers, fire dancers, and listening to traditional Hawaiian music. With all of this happening just steps from the ocean, it is truly an amazing night of food and entertainment.
If traditional partying is more your style then you can certainly find that as well. Lahaina and Kihei are the top spots for partying, dancing, mingling, and having a great time. There are plenty of bars featuring live music and dancing, karaoke, and general entertainment. Lahaina in particular really comes alive at night, and makes it for a great time whether you are looking for romance or a fun group outing. Many resorts also offer hot spots at their local bars in case you don’t feel like heading to the streets.
If you are doing a family night out then you may want to get tickets to the magic show located at the Kaanapali Beach hotel. Based on the Maui legend of the Black Rock, this entertainment is great for the entire family.
Whether you are looking to kick back with a few drinks or take in a great meal, there is plenty of nightlife to be found in Maui.
