You may be taking your first road trip soon; wherever you are going wouldn’t it be great to realize all about the cars you are driving and how it actually came about?

Everybody knows about Henry Ford; whether you’re a car lover or not. Everything about Henry Ford and all about car history around the world can be sought out in Dearborn in Michigan. This is only a stone throw from where the car history was actually conceived. There is so much here for you to see and go exploring; you will need a fair amount of time to do it all in.

There is a museum dedicated to the man Henry Ford himself; this is a modern American museum and it is one that you can go round at your own leisure and soak up all the history. There are many exhibits to see and learn about from all areas of American history, manufacturing history and profiles stating all the generations.

You are at the Henry Ford museum so you already know you going to see lots of varieties of vehicles; but when you see the sheer amount you will be blown away. There is the Kennedy Limousine there that was made famous from the day he was killed and there are many other presidential limousines.

Also at this museum is the chair that President Lincoln was in when he was shot. There is some discoloration to the chair and many seem to think this is Lincoln’s own blood. This isn’t true and it is just from general wear and tear. There are also many planes to see and learn about including some of the famous Howard Hugh’s planes as well.

You can walk through the village and it does go through the history of America but it looks at it from a much wider angle than the museum itself. 20th Century colonization is shown here and most of the buildings are original or reconstructions of the original buildings.

Again this is a self guided tour so you can round at your own leisure and take in all the attractions in at your own pace. Staff members are positioned in certain spots to tell you more about where you are. They may be dressed in character to give you a really authentic feel to the place.

A couple of the buildings there are the Edison Lab, which was the first house to have electricity and also the Benson Ford research center, this is a research museum. Also are the Heinz home and the Wright Brothers home and garage as well.
There are a few new additions to the family; including the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. Tours round the factory are guided.

There are so many things to see and experience here for the whole family. So if you’re planning on a road trip soon; why not take your road trip to place where it all began. Don’t forget to give your thanks when you get there!
