Where to Eat on the Island of Maui

No matter what type of vacation that you are taking, the subject of where to eat always comes up. Particularly in Maui where the diversity is strong and the natural beauty surrounds you, where to eat on Maui is not just something you think about, it is something you should experience. Maui has a blend of both Hawaiian and Polynesian culture which allows you to experience what is considered the best of both worlds.

Maui restaurants are plentiful as you walk through the streets of Lahaina or Kaanapali, but most everyone makes their first stop at a traditional Hawaii luau. Considered to be a fun way to experience the culture, there are foods there that you simply can’t experience anywhere else. Where to eat on Maui really becomes what to eat on Maui when you go to your first authentic luau. The foods include the delectable Kalua pig, Hawaiian sweet potatoes, Poke, and Poi. The best luau is considered to be the Old Lahaina Luau which is located on Front Street in Lahaina. For a more gourmet luau menu you may want to try The Feast at Lele.

When you are wondering where to eat on Maui, you may want to consider taking a trip to Upcountry Maui to a place called the Haliimaile General Store which offers the best in local Hawaiian cuisine. For lunch, they offer the crab Boboli which people absolutely love, as well as daily fish specials that are fresh and delicious. Dinner reservations are strongly encouraged, although for lunch there probably won’t be a long wait time.

If you are looking for fresh seafood when you are trying to figure out where to eat on Maui, you will find more than your fair share of fabulous restaurants. Often served on the beach front restaurants, you can partake in fresh Ahi, Mahimahi, Moi, Monchong, Ono, Opah, Onaga, and Shutome just to name a few, but you can really find some type of seafood at almost every restaurant in Maui as it is their staple of dining.

The greatest thing about the Maui restaurants is their fusion of International foods such as Japanese, Thai, Korean, French, Italian, and even American cooking. In particular, one Maui restaurant really stands out when it comes to having everything you could possibly want. The Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi bar offers Japanese Fusion in two separate locations located in Kapalua and Kihei. Popular with the tourists, if you plan on going to either location, you need to make a reservation to make sure you get a seat.

For a more casual Maui restaurant, you will have your choice in the village of Lahaina where you can sit in the garden or on an oceanfront patio. There you will partake in many traditional and international foods.

Snowbird Fun In Sunny Florida

Winter is rarely a very exciting time. Cold weather, bad driving conditions and the freezing temperatures are some of the things that drive you to retreat into the heated indoors. But why sit around at home getting cabin fever when you could be elsewhere, enjoying sun, surf and sand? Snowbird tourists love Florida because of the warm sun there, and here are some snowbird destination favorites from the Sunshine State.

The Sunshine State

Florida is known for its subtropical climate, miles of beaches and clear blue waters. The weather in Florida is nice and warm all year long, which is why many people have chosen to spend their retirement there. From college students looking for a good time during spring break to families spending their summer vacations together, Florida attracts all sorts of vacationers and holidaymakers from all over the world.

Balmy Miami

Like most major tourist destinations in Florida, Miami has the prerequisite warm weather, sandy beaches and palm trees swaying in the wind. However, with the extent of the urbanization in Miami City, it’s become the go-to place for people who want to get sun and sand without straying too far from modern comforts.

A large variety of activities is available in Miami, so you won’t have any trouble occupying yourself from sunrise into the wee hours of the next day. Mornings can be spent on the beaches or on the docks; swimming, fishing and surfing are some of the more popular tourist activities. Once the sun goes down, Miami’s nightlife goes into full swing with many bars and nightclubs dotted throughout the city.

Keep an Eye Out for Key West

Like Miami, Key West has its fair share of warm sun, white sand and clear waters. The key difference is that Key West is a less urban area, offering more of an escape from the busy urban lifestyle than Miami. Although the city itself is already quite modern, Key West is a good vacation option if you’re the kind of snowbird who wants to get away from the city’s hustle and bustle as well as the cold.

Getting in touch with nature is a major theme in Key West vacation offerings. Various companies in the tourist area offer activities like snorkeling to the coral reefs, diving, sailing, surfing and many other water activities. If you love fishing, then you’ll love Key West. The waters surrounding it are home to numerous species of fish, and you can easily hire boats to take you to deeper waters so you can get even bigger catches to bring home.

Bask in Boca Raton

Anglers will also enjoy Boca Raton, which has excellent fishing as well. But Boca Raton offers more than just a lot of fish. It’s home to fantastic golf courses that will keep any enthusiast busy the whole wintertime. If you’re a shopaholic, you can also switch between sunning yourself on the beach and splurging at any one of the numerous shopping centers in and around the Boca Raton beach area.

Who says that your next winter has to be a cold one? Your winters never need be cold, boring and spent indoors, especially if you spend them in Florida.

How To Plan For Your Maui, Hawaii Vacation

Even though Maui, Hawaii is a great destination, you don’t really need to go overboard when making your preparations. Sometimes, all you need is to bring yourself and a working credit card, a couple of hundred of bucks, a fully loaded digital camera and your set. Although, some would take the trip seriously, they tend to bring a lot with them which is not bad especially if you’re planning to stay for a couple of days.

You don’t have to meticulously plan out a package that spans for days. In your own creative way, you can create your own experience of choosing your activities, hotel accommodation, and mode of transportation while you’re in Maui. So what are the things that you should do or bring before going to Maui?

Plan

Of course you have to start somewhere and what better way would that be than to plan your choice of vacation. You can either call up someone from a traveling agency or canvass for the amount of their vacation package and the activities that go with their prices. Make sure that you know the itinerary of your visit otherwise you’ll be surprised on how far your funds have faded. Select wisely and independently. If you are going solo, then be advised that you have to plan for a trip that’ll entertain your sobriety. Although, if you’re planning to bring someone special or your friends, then you have to go with a group or couple packages to better widen the range of your budget.

Travel with Insurance

You don’t want to get caught up in some kind of crossroad and be empty-handed. You have to be insured first, just in case lady luck leaves your side and bring down all negativities. Here, you are secured of the different circumstances that may occur before, during and even after your trip. Insurances usually cover your luggage damage, trip interruption or cancellation, medical needs, and so much more.

Make Reservations

If you are positive with your visit, make a reservation to the agency that agreed in answering and offering you all accommodations. Make your reservation as early as possible to be able to get the appropriate slots.

Bring Necessities

Bring only those things that you’ll use. Don’t bring your entire cabinet just because you are too apprehensive of the bad things that may happen. Come on, this is a vacation trip and not a walk down your boss’ office wherein you are equipped with all your defense mechanisms in case he would fire you. Remember, you will go to Maui for a vacation and not to worry on what you have and don’t have. Maui is a place that has a very casual ambiance wherein you don’t need to bring heavy clothes or flashy jewelries. Pack in light comfortable clothes like shorts, tees, swim wear, sandals, flip-flops, sunscreen and your favorite hat to protect you from the burning heat of the sun. You don’t have to worry if you would walk in a hotel’s dining room wearing shorts and t-shirt because they allow this kind of attire provided that it looks presentable and neat.

Be Secured

Always be cautious. Remember, you are in another place and the last thing that you would want to happen is experiencing lost valuables or being trapped in an accident. Don’t let your vacation be ruined because of your own fault. Be secured with things that are very important like your wallet. Don’t bring large amounts of money because this will attract bandits.

From the mountain summits to the ocean reefs, to the rainforests, the magical village of Lahaina offers you a blend of both old and new.

Once known as the whaling capital of world, this old whaling village still has much of the charm of yesteryear, dotted with modern landscaping of today. Although the whaling industry came to an end and the local economy became dependant on agriculture, you can still see much of the old history here in this beautiful city.

Nowadays, mixed in with the historical architecture you will find eateries, boutiques, and local pubs where you can shop, eat, and just enjoy a casual day in the village. While you are there you can also see some of the historical landmarks such as The Old Courthouse which was built in 1859. If it is art you are looking for you can view some of the exhibits from top artists in Maui at the Lahaina Art Society. While there, you may notice the prison bars which still encase the windows of the lower level of the galleries from the days when it held Maui prisoners.

Walking down the sidewalk, you can travel to The Courthouse Square which encompasses one of the most viewed spots in Maui ? The Banyan Tree. Planted in 1873 this magnificent tree has roots that have allowed it to grow into twelve very large tree trunks. It may look like a bunch of trees scattered throughout, but in fact, it is just one large tree that provides nearly an acre of shade where people come to relax, read, and take in the beautiful sunny days. While you are there, you can tour the restored ruins of the old waterfront fort which was built in the 1830′s.

The streets of Lahaina are alive with little shops, restaurants, and plenty of tourists looking to pick up their share of the Maui souvenirs. But that doesn’t mean you can’t pick up some culture along the way. Many waterfront restaurants also dot these streets which allow for some nightlife culture including live music, traditional jewelry, and many old reminders of what Lahaina was all about in the prime of its day.

Lahaina is really a must see day trip for anyone looking to have a little fun and learn about what life used to be like. Although very touristy and often a little crowded, you can certainly come to relax and enjoy yourself with a mix of locals and tourists. From the harbor day and evening cruises to the submarine rides, it is an excellent place to enjoy the underwater adventures as well. It really is a mix of old and new culture that you can’t miss out on.

Discovering the Natural Beauty of Maui

Vacationing to Maui is more than just a trip to the ocean; it is an experience in natural beauty. Maui is more than just sand and palm trees. In fact, it is filled with lush foliage, rain forests, and even mountains topped with a dusting of snow. The natural beauty of Maui can be found all over the island, but you have to leave the shopping and dining areas to really enjoy it.

One special area in Maui that every nature lover must see when landing on the island is Haleakala National Park. Rated as a top National Park, it covers over 28,000 acres from the ocean to the top of the Haleakala volcano. This is an active volcano, that although doesn’t erupt, offers you an ecological experience that you simply can’t miss. As you climb the 10,023 foot summit you can go from what feels like a desert to the rainforest and back again. You will see endangered birds, and rare tropical plants that you simply can’t see anywhere else in the world. The best way to see Haleakala is during the early morning hours where you can enjoy a spectacular sunrise that will literally take your breath away. It is worth the often below freezing temperatures to stand outside and enjoy this amazing sight. Don’t forget to stay for a while and hopefully see the 360 degree views through the windows of the warm shelter on the top of the volcano.

After experiencing an active volcano it may be time to head to another natural beauty of Maui ? the famous Iao Needle. Rising 1,320 feet in the middle of a jungle in Central Maui, you can spot this gorgeous site on the viewing stand set in the Iao Valley State Park. You can then hike into the valley through taking in the giant ferns as well as other foliage, passing the stunning waterfalls, and walking along the orchid lined streams to see nature at its very best. As you go further into the valley you will think you have reached paradise with how beautiful it is.

If natural formations are more your speed, then head over to West Maui where you can see The Nakalele Blowhole, or Dragon’s Teeth. The Nakalele Blowhole is a site slide of lava that was formed when the ocean was found undercutting the lava shelf. You can spend hours watching the ocean spout water out of a hole in the lava shelf. Dragon’s Teeth is an area in which you can spot light colored and bleached lava in the shape of large teeth which was formed by the ocean as well, actually carving the lava into distinct shapes.

Of course Maui is known for the beauty found in the ocean itself. With the many coral reefs just begging you to snorkel through them, Maui has some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the entire world. In fact, some areas are so beautiful they are actually classified as underwater parks.

From whale watching of the migrating Pacific Humpback whales to the mystifying exquisiteness of the volcano, the natural beauty that Maui has is simply magnificent.

Among the many developments the Olympics left Georgia is the Centennial Olympic Park. Not only was the edifice significant in its sense, but more importantly, the opportunities having the building opened to the city and the state. For one it has turned the city of Atlanta into a top tourist destination because of the activities held at the Park. For another, the Park gave the city a tremendous boost in terms of employment, economy and business. The Centennial Olympic Park was developed more than 20 years ago, and opened everyday from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. including holidays except when a private event was being held. Entrance is free unless a special event requires fees or tickets. The park is also near the Coca-cola Museum, the Georgia Aquarium, the Children’s Museum and several others, all of which can be sidetrip destinations after visiting the park.

Among the events that will be held at the Centennial Olympic Park are the ING GA Marathon and Hal Marathon, on March 29. After that is the Wednesday WindDown in April 1 then Music@Noon the next day. Every fourth Saturday is Family Fun Day, which is regular, and so are the yearly Fourth of July celebrations, the Fountain of Rings, and the winter shows Holiday Lights and Skating on Ice. Any season is a good season to visit the Centennial Olympic Park.

For the unscheduled visitor, there are features in the Centennial Olympic Park that may be enjoyed everyday. These are the Fountain of Rings Visitor Center, the Water Gardens, Paralympic Legacy, Allen Family Tribute, Garden Pavilions, Children’s Gardens, Fountainside CafĂ©, Amphitheater, Gateway of Dreams, Centennial Plaza, Androgyne Planet, Quilt Plaza, Belvedere, and others. Each of them offers a distinct attraction probably not found elsewhere, one reason tourists come back to them every now and then.

Outside the Park in Atlanta are the CNN Studio, Underground Atlanta and the Dome Tour, which are likewise interesting places to go to on their own.

Georgia is a state filled with exciting places to visit on a tour or vacation. The Centennial Olympic Park is just one of them, although enjoying its offerings can mean more than one day. It can be reached via the Interstate Route 75/85 north to Andrew Young Boulevard then right to Marietta Street. From the north, exit I-75/85 to Williams Street then right to Baker Street. From the west, use I-20 then exit to Spring Street and left to Marietta.

Exploring Atlanta could use up another day at least, so if you are planning to take a vacation, plan on going to the Georgia Centennial Olympic Park and Atlanta, Georgia. In it you will many places and pleasures to discover, in even limit4ed number of days you may have. Exploring both will give you more than several days of tour pleasure and vacation, and let you understand why Atlanta, Georgia and Centennial Olympic Park remain to be top tourist destinations in the country today.

Nevada: It’s Great Not Only for Gambling

When you hear talk about the state of Nevada, the first thing that will pop into your mind is probably Las Vegas, world-famous for its casinos and stage shows. Or Reno, almost as famous for its gambling resorts, but also known as the place for making quickie divorces. Very few will consider Nevada as a destination for winter sports, but do you know that the 1960 Winter Olympics was held in Lake Tahoe, Nevada? Actually in Squaw Valley, at the northern end of Lake Tahoe.

Within a very short two-hour drive from Reno can be found several world-class winter sports resorts, notably skiing, snowboarding and skating. At southern Lake Tahoe is a popular resort appropriately named ‘Heavenly’, situated as it is at 10, 067 feet high. It has 15 ski lifts on California side and another 15 at the Nevada part of Lake Tahoe (which straddles the two states) so there is very little waiting time before one is brought to the slopes for the day’s fun. (The number of lifts is also indicative of the resort’s popularity.) an aerial tram and 8-man gondola are also available for those afraid of riding on ski lifts.

The winter sports season in Heavenly begins by the middle of November and ends around April, with average snowfall of 360 inches annually. Thus anyone is assured of fresh snow almost any time to enjoy the sport. The resort boasts of numerous ski trails for the experts and advanced skiers (35% of the slopes), as well as intermediate-level enthusiasts (45%) and the rest for neophyte or beginners in skiing. Any skiing enthusiast will therefore have a slope for his competence not matter his level of expertise. Furthermore, he can proceed to more difficult slopes right away once he has mastered the easier ones, without leaving the resort.

But the resort is not just for skiing. It also contains amenities for lodging, shopping, dining, recreation and entertainment, and even fitness facilities to help you limber up for the sports. As such Heavenly has something for everyone, even the non-skiers. Situated at the 10,000+ feet elevation it also offers a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe amidst snowy fields, a site to enjoy endlessly. Snowboarding is also an option at Heavenly resort.

For those who do not really ski, Squaw Valley nearby can offer a bowl skiing. Acres and acres of deep snow for bowl skiing are regularly available to new skiers as yet unprepared in terms of physical skills and mental state to tackle the slopes. As a site of a previous Winter Olympics, it has the facilities and the amenities for annual skiing tourists.

Arid Reno, Nevada is therefore not simply for gamblers and gamers. Though very famous for the casinos rivaling Las Vegas, it has resorts nearby for winter sports, something Las Vegas does not have. Reno also has Lake Tahoe, where water sports facilities may be available almost any month of the year. And of course, then frozen, Lake Tahoe can be a very good venue of skating and perhaps ice fishing. And of course there are the gambling places, shopping emporiums, luxury hotels and restaurants. Any one of them is reason enough to enjoy Reno and Nevada.

So if you are thinking of going on a winter sports vacation, do not forget Nevada, that ‘desert’ state abutting California. It can offer you many winter sports facilities and other methods of enjoyment you may be pleasantly surprised. As point of fact, anytime you want sports, look first to Nevada: it may have what you want more than just gambling your time away.

Go On A Road Trip To The Renaissance Festival In Sterling, New York

Camping trips are a great family outing at just about any time of the year, but as anyone with children knows, among the first hurdles you will have to face are children who find themselves slowly getting bored of whatever entertainment you’ve provided for them. Even children who bounce with joy at the idea of an exciting fishing trip will have their minds quickly turning to something else as an hour of boating passes without more than a few nibbles, maybe a hit at best.

This is to say nothing of the frustration inherent in trying to convince a kid that they need to wake up early during what they consider to be their hard earned day off. This is hard enough for many adults to consider, much less children.

But, if your children are in any way interested in knights in shining armor, there’s a way to kill two birds with one stone. While it may be somewhat difficult to find a good place to "rough it" out that’s interesting for both the adults and children of the family, Sterling, which is just an hour outside of Syracuse, New York, hosts the Sterling Renaissance Festival. As an added bonus, this is just down the road from a great campground, allowing you to both enjoy the tranquility of nature, and bring your children to Sterling’s dazzling display of the renaissance.

Fortunately, this festival is as child-friendly as the local area is beautiful. As an example, the first weekend of the fair is Children’s Weekend, with a variety of games and rides aimed at appealing to the little ones. But if you think you’re going just so that you can experience a medieval themed carnival with your typical less than savory ride operator dressed in a tabard, you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised.

In addition to these child-themed rides, there are also a number of historical features that will integrate learning with fun as children can take lessons in manners over tea and cookies, and can also learn how to shoot a bow in safely monitored archery lessons.

Children can also be enticed with costume contests with a renaissance theme, and any excess energy can be spent on what is known as the Queen’s Treasure Hunt, which is just one of the many activities that will be going on throughout the course of the day.

The tickets are reasonably priced – but even then, for those who love budget shopping, the website, http://sterlingfestival.com, can give you a chance to cash in on pre-order special offers that will save you both time and money.

The children aren’t the only one that will be pleased with the events of Sterling Festival, however, as you can also return for both the second and third weekends, which add a layer of fun for both mom and dad, as well as the activities that so excited your child the first time around.

It is an increasingly common custom to renew your vows – and what’s a better way than to come renew them at Sterling’s Renaissance Festival! You can come in or out of costume, but are assured a treat of festivities, ranging from a ceremony performed by the justice of the peace, to Sterling’s very own Queen Elizabeth to preside over the entire event. Likewise, there will be toasts of champagne with era-appropriate mugs and goblets which you are invited to take home with you.

Finally, don’t think that in this era of renewed interest in the subject that Sterling is going to forget its swashbucklers and buccaneers. On the third weekend, you are invited to let that inner pirate in you escape in a historically accurate rendition of pirate-themed events and activities.

For this reason, you may want to use the third weekend as an opportunity to hire a local babysitter, as what is a pirate weekend without the flow of beer! This is a chance for parents to cut loose and enjoy much needed mom and dad time – with a weekend aimed generally for them and other such adults. The easiest way to describe this weekend is “huge” and it is highly advised that if you miss the first two weekends, this pirate party is not one to miss.

Experiencing The New York City Nightlife

If there is anywhere in the world that you can experience nightlife that ranges from comedy clubs, dance clubs, biker bars, whiskey bars, cigar bars, and any other kind of entertainment that you can think of, New York is your kind of city. The New Yorker’s sure know how to do it right, with some of the most famous clubs, and bars located within the city limits, and some that are right outside in easy driving distance.

From downtown Manhattan, to Soho, Chelsea, the East Side, Brooklyn and everywhere in between, there is no shortage of fun to be had. You may want to start by asking the front concierge at the hotel in which you are staying. They can usually give you the best information for what nightlife is located in your area. Be specific and tell them exactly what you are looking for. Chances are that they can point you in the right direction.

Some of the best bars can be found right near the tourist spots you may be visiting. For example, the Roof Garden CafĂ© is on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. As romantic as it can get, you can enjoy world class views, delicious frozen daiquiris, and quiet talks together. If you are looking for more of a night out with the guys, you should check out Jay-Z’s towering two level sports club. From frequent celebrity sightings to huge flat-screen televisions in which to watch all of your favorite sports, this bar is more than just your casual meeting place.

If rock and roll is more your style, then head down to the Lower East Side for a night out at either the Bower Ballroom, or The Slipper Room. Both are dark, well stocked, and hold the best bands around. Both are hip, happening, and totally fantastic. If rock and roll is a bit too loud for you, two other sultry clubs are S.O.B.’s, which offers south of the equator music that will really move you, or the classic Copacabana which has Latin music and dancing that is out of this world.

There is certainly no shortage of dance clubs in and around New York City. A local favorite, Pacha, is located on 46th street. Offering the best of international hotspots, this club takes you from a dance club to the steamy tropics without ever leaving New York City. The Disco dance clubs also are a favorite among everyone. Dirty Disco on 14th street takes a sexy gallery lounge and recreates the 70′s and 80′s all over again. For hip hop and top 40 dance music, you must head over the Element on E. Houston Street for the very best in dance spectaculars. Finally, if all that isn’t enough for you, then head down to W. 3rd street for Village Underground. The hard partiers can find plenty of drinking, dance, and general sinfulness here "in the underground."

While you are having fun, remember to use your common sense. Don’t take all of your money with you, stay on the main streets, try to take a cab rather than walk, and stay in groups with one person remaining sober to make sure everyone gets home okay. Most of all have fun! Vacationing in New York City is about more than just visiting museums.

Las Vegas Family Travel – Family And Adult Travel to Las Vegas: Questions To Ask

Las Vegas is well known for its exciting nightlife, especially the casinos. For this reason it is a popular adult tourist destination, and has become known as Sin City. Las Vegas is also a good tourist destination for the whole family, however. If you are planning an adult vacation, then there are some things you will want to know in order to ensure you have a memorable and exciting trip. Here are some questions that you should ask in order to find out all you need to know before you select your vacation package.

1. How good is the travel agency, and is it reputable? Tourists often go to a particular travel agency and decide to go for an all-inclusive travel package. Not all travel agencies are the same, however, and some are not quite as good as others. It is important, therefore, that you choose one which has a good reputation. Check previous clients’ testimonials and you should be able to ascertain how good a particular agency is. You can also check out review sites who supply ratings of different agencies. Select an agency which has the best reviews, and specializes in adult travel. Adult tourism packages are different from ones designed for families or general purposes.

2. What activities are included in the package? All kinds of activities could be included, because this particular field of tourism is wide and varied. Choose one which offers the activities which interest you. If you don’t check out this point, you could find that the activities which are included in your package are of no interest to you. Typical activities which are included in these packages are ones such as diving, golf, spa treatments and dining. Most popular settings are ones which are quiet and intimate.

3. What is the cost of the package? Are all travel expenses included? When you select an all-inclusive package, you might presume that all travel costs are included, however often there are exceptions. Don’t expect, therefore, to find all costs are covered, and ask for a list of what is (or is not).

4. What restrictions (if any) are there? Travel packages for adults vary, and some are just for singles, others aimed at groups, and yet others for couples. There are also some packages which have age restrictions. Bear in mind, too, that to gamble in a Las Vegas casino you must be at least 21 years of age.

Adult travel packages can be relaxing and lots of fun. For your trip to be the most exciting and memorable vacation you have ever had, you need to ensure that you have selected the best travel agency to manage your plans for you.

By asking all the above questions when you are planning your family or adult vacation to Las Vegas, you will be sure to choose the best travel agency. Be aware that not all travel agencies do specialize in adult vacations, and check the details of your chosen package carefully. Also be sure to select a package which fits with your budget, if cost is important to you.

You can take your kids to Las Vegas, spend family time together and still have time to spend out with your spouse or the company of other adults. Las Vegas has more to offer than gambling and fan dancers. Las Vegas shows and entertainment are diverse enough for all ages. Take your kids with you to Las Vegas. Your family will not be disappointed.

Most children will not love the idea of going to Vegas on vacation. They probably have the same picture in their minds as you do – casinos and bars. Their first thought may be that they will be sitting in a hotel room the entire time while their parents have all the fun. But that is not how Las Vegas has to be. Las Vegas caters to families. The city has more to offer kids than they will be able to see in a week!

Four Fantastic Kid-Friendly Places in Las Vegas

1. The Excalibur casino and hotel – This is the premiere spot for kids vacationing in Vegas. The hotel is built like a castle – complete with a drawbridge! King Arthur himself never had so much fun. There are over 4,000 rooms from which to choose in this hotel and some of them are as cheap as 35 dollars a night. Take in a magic show, ventriloquism, puppetry, Sponge Bob rides and Louie Shows. Adults will enjoy walking the castle and golfing as well as the casino. Reservations are available online.
2. For adults, the MGM hotel casino features such singers as Wayne Newton ( a Las Vegas must-see) and Tom Jones. Magical acts from such personalities as David Copperfield are sure to keep you guessing and begging for more. There is Hollywood theater and nightclubs for those “grown-up” evenings as well. While there is not much to be found for very little ones, if you have older kids, they will love dining under a saltwater aquarium, swimming in any of the five pools or taking a short trip to the Lion habitat.
3. The Red Rock Resort Casino offers a Kids Quest, bowling and gambling for adults and the Regal Cinemas where families can watch movies. If you are interested in staying at the Red Rock, be sure to make reservations well ahead of time. There are only 800 rooms available.
4. The Stratosphere hotel is a nice break from the day-to-day doldrums of everyday life. This hotel features its own amusement park that is perfect for adults and older children. Among the top rides are the Insanity Ride and the X-Scream.

A great family vacation can be found in exciting Las Vegas. It won’t cost you an arm and a leg to enjoy time with your spouse and kids. Just make reservations for one of these fantastic hotels and let Las Vegas entertain you!

Las Vegas Family Travel – Las Vegas: Great For Grownups!

Most often called the City of Sin, Las Vegas is best and completely enjoyed only when you’ve reached the age of majority. From A-list restaurants and celebrity hangouts to lavish casinos and crazy clubs, Las Vegas definitely holds a wealth of treats for everybody.

Try Your Luck at Casinos

Las Vegas is already synonymous with gambling. After all, the largest and most popular casinos in the world have addresses in and around the Las Vegas Strip. No matter what games you play or the stakes that you are willing to bet, you’d better hold tight to your wallet. There are so many games in Las Vegas that you’ll have a hard time keeping yourself from trying out one game after the next.

No trip to Las Vegas is complete without a trip into at least one casino. In fact, you could even get a complete vacation simply by playing at a casino. It’s common practice for big casinos in the city to offer complimentary accommodations or use of amenities to regular patrons. Add that to the chance of your getting a jackpot at any one of the games. You never know, you might just get a free suite for yourself with that next pull at the slots.

And the Party Goes On

Party animals will love Las Vegas. It’s not as publicized as the numerous casinos on the Strip, but the city is actually a party hotspot once the sun goes down. Dozens of clubs are dotted throughout the city, most of them having distinctive signature styles typical of Las Vegas establishments.

If you happen to find yourself in the Palms Hotel Casino, take the elevator to the 52nd floor of the Fantasy Tower and check out the Playboy Club. It’s an official Playboy Club sanctioned by Hugh Hefner, the first one since 1988. In fact, Hef himself had more than a few inputs in the design. And if you want to get your groove on, just go a floor up to the themed Moon nightclub for an experience that’s quite literally out of this world.

Do you prefer retro to the space age? Head over to Polly Esther’s, located inside the Stratosphere along the Strip. Anybody who’s been alive between the 70′s and the Noughties will have a blast there – each decade has its own room, complete with memorabilia and period dĂ©cor. Relive OJ Simpson’s trial or take a breather on a bench beside Forrest Gump. It’s a party experience you won’t get anywhere else.

Jackpot winners ought to take the opportunity to get through the doors of PURE at Caesar’s Palace. It takes at least a grand to gain entrance into this celebrity hangout, but it’s well worth the splurge. PURE is like three venues fused under one roof, so prepare to party your night away. Just brace yourself for the credit card bill and the paparazzi pictures when you get back home.

When it comes to parties and just an overall good time, you can’t ask for a better package than Las Vegas. From ultra-exclusive to plain over-the-top, this pleasure paradise has got everything you could ask for – and then some.

Las Vegas Family Travel – Las Vegas: Vacations for Adults and Families

When most of us think of Las Vegas, we think of casinos, dancing girls, wedding chapels and nightlife. However, those things are not all there is to Las Vegas. Entertainment venues are not restricted only to adult activities. You do not have to leave your children at home or choose another destination. When you know where to go, you will find that Vegas offers wholesome entertainment for the entire family.

It may surprise you to learn that family vacations in Las Vegas do not have to cost a tremendous amount of money. Even those who are traveling on a limited budget will find a great family deal in Vegas.

Casinos are much more than venues for gambling. Casino owners know their clients also have families, so most casinos do offer activities for children. There are also concerts and casinos containing actual amusement rides. For a reasonable price, your kids can have their own fun while you spend time on slot machines or at the Blackjack table.

Las Vegas is known for big shows and those shows are not limited to scantily clad women, theater or comedy that is not suitable to families. The shows in Vegas include children specific programs as well as family-friendly magic and medieval-type shows. For example, Excalibur offers the “Tournament of Kings”. There are also animal shows, puppets, circus performances and other great family entertainment!

When planning a vacation, many families are concerned with the cost of eating. Las Vegas helps ease the pain of dining costs with buffets and inexpensive restaurants. Many of these places allow children under certain ages to eat for free. The themed restaurants are particularly wonderful for family fun. Dinner at the Rainforest Café offers more than just good food.

If you do have children and plan to spend time in the casinos, be sure to ask for information regarding rules for children inside the casino. One must be at least twenty-one years of age to enter gambling areas and there may be separate entrances for children’s activities. Some casinos have childcare for hire and the babysitters will make sure your kids are kept entertained while you are busy gambling.

The best way to travel around Las Vegas is via car, whether you bring your own or rent one. It is not recommended that you plan walking tours when you bring children to the city as adult activities do take place on sidewalks. Unless you wish to spend a good deal of time explaining such activities to your kids, it is best to drive or travel by taxi.

For the best rates and the most fun, plan your family vacation to Las Vegas well in advance. While there are plenty of things for families to do in Vegas, knowing where you will be within the city will go a long way towards protecting your children from adult-related activity. Remember that if you ever need to get away for some “grown-up” time, hotels and casinos will accommodate your babysitting needs. There is something for everyone in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Las Vegas Family Travel – Getting Around Las Vegas On Less

As almost elsewhere in the great United States, one can get around Las Vegas through two ways: private and public transportation. Private means you bring your own car or lease a drive-it-yourself vehicle, which will be very easy to find in the city. Public is taking the bus, taxi or monorail, captive to their established systems and schedules. Private driving has only two disadvantages -traffic and expense-so we will concentrate on public transportation in Las Vegas.

The first public transportation worth considering is the Las Vegas Monorail. The fee is only $5.00 each way, $12.00 for an all-day pass. So if you are alone or with another, or intend to travel extensively, the all-day pass will be ideal. Discounts for large groups are not given out often, so if you compute the total costs for multi-passengers it could be prohibitive. However, that also depends on how much getting around you plan to make in company.

The large hotels are reachable from the Monorail stops, although some walking may be needed. If you are in a hurry, you can always take the taxi to where you want to go from any of the stops, but using the Monorail when going cross-city is the least expensive method. No problem with traffic -it has its own way and pace– and weather: the Monorail is climate-controlled. The Monorail is found at the eastern part of Las Vegas.

As an alternative, there is a bus line named CAT, or Citizens’ Are Transit that plies 49 routes around the Las Vegas. Trips begin at 5:30 A.M. and ends at 1:30 A.M. the day after, but some more popular areas are covered 24 hours a day. A ride costs around $1.25 for adults but discounts are given to children. An all-day pass is $5.00, applicable to all routes, and is preferable if you intend to go around much. Thirty-day passes are also available and it costs a lot less, very practical if you are staying long in Las Vegas. Routes and other information may be obtained from the Las Vegas Visitors Authority. Contact them at 702-892-0711.

If all else fails, there is always the taxi which may be cheaper in some circumstances, because it can bring you exactly where you’re going, such as your hotel. A taxi can accommodate up to five persons, so it is best and very convenient if you are travelling in a small group. Don’t forget to add a small tip, more especially if you have luggage, as weight also reduces car mileage. If taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel, don’t be surprised if there is also a surcharge on the fare; it is legal.

The three means of public transportation are the less expensive alternatives to driving your own car. Traffic in Las Vegas especially during the peak season can be horrendous so that private transportation can be more a liability than convenience. Still, it depends on what you intend to do there, how much going around you need to make and how fast, and the extent of your budget. But when planning to visit Las Vegas, consider public transportation to explore the city. It can be your best bet yet.

Las Vegas Family Travel – Family Fun In Las Vegas

Just because Las Vegas is often marketed as the City of Sin does not mean that you cannot take the whole family along on a Las Vegas vacation. Contrary to what you might see on TV, you can arrange for a fun, exciting and family-friendly trip for everybody, whether you are bringing your 50-year old boss or 5-year old son. Las Vegas remains one of the top vacation hotspots in the United States, and perhaps even the world.

Where Hospitality is a Must

In a city that thrives primarily on tourists, it should come as no surprise to you that the accommodations in Las Vegas are some of the best and most, well, accommodating in the US. Most employ a full staff that will cater to your every need 24/7, and often extending services to you even when you’re outside the hotel. When you go to Las Vegas, pampering is one thing that you should expect to get from all around.

A lot of the hotels on the Strip also provide regular car or shuttle services to make it easier for you to go around. Shuttle services typically ply a route between the hotels and McCarran International Airport, but there’s also service between the clusters of hotels and the major landmarks in the area – including the Strip.

A Family-Friendly Side

Tourist gamblers don’t usually take tours because they already know which casinos they’ll be playing in. If, however, you’re traveling with family, a tour will be your best option to maximize the experience for everybody with you. At the same time, you’ll be cutting down on costs because everything from transport to admission costs will be charged using group rates.

All tour companies that operate in Las Vegas offer a family-friendly option. That is, the guide will take you in and around the points of interest in Las Vegas without going through too many casinos. On family-friendly trips, the seedier parts of town are omitted altogether, and gambling is barely discussed. After all, the kids won’t have much fun if all the adults are at the slots while they’re not even allowed to approach the machines.

Las Vegas: Full of Life

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Las Vegas is just all about gambling and casinos. There are lots of things to do and see in Las Vegas that don’t have anything to do with slot machines and other R-rated pleasures.

Shows, for example, are fixtures in Las Vegas, particularly on the strip. Magic shows, animal displays and even music concerts are all held in venues around the Strip. Exhibits and museums are also worth looking at if anybody’s an art or history buff. Just take a look around the non-gambling parts of the casinos and you will find something to do. The Venetian, for example, offers a gondola ride through its realistic faux Venetian scenery.

That’s another reason why tours would be a good idea for a family vacation in Las Vegas. Not only will you be able to get cheaper tickets, but you will also be able to plan out all those activities in advance so that your family can smoothly move from one spot to another. That way, you will get to see as many attractions as you can. You won’t get too many bored kids with a well-thought out, thoroughly planned, Las Vegas vacation.

Las Vegas Family Travel – Enjoying Las Vegas On A Budget

If you want to go home from Las Vegas with a little money, as the joke goes, go there with a lot. Somehow or other, you will leave there some of what you brought. You often pay for your vacations so it is normal, but in Las Vegas, if you are not careful, you can disastrously lose your shirt and fare home as well, and depart much earlier than planned. This has happened to countless visitors who do not know what to do when they went to Las Vegas.

But do not let that intimidate you. The city is very famous for its gambling casinos and Can-can dancers, and is dazzling with glitz and glamour, bright neon lights outside and dim lighting inside, all designed to take the money out of your pocket. But if you plan your vacation well and adhere to certain restrictions, you can enjoy Las Vegas on a budget and come home with good stories.

First, Budget your Trip

Las Vegas like any other tourist destination has its own highs and lows of arrival rates, and therefore has peak visit seasons when prices are astronomical. Go there during the off season when hotels and airlines offer discounts and freebies. You’ll get better treatment from the staff and employees as you compete with fewer better-heeled clients for attention.

Do some research on where to go and how to go there. Explore the countless websites on the Internet, with phone numbers you can contact, to find the lowest rates in plane fares and accommodations. Ask friends or acquaintances who have visited Las Vegas, perhaps they have some information not normally found in other sources, about how to save a few bucks while in the city. Ask the Las Vegas Visitors Authority at 702-892-0711 for any conventions scheduled so you can avoid them.

Second, Budget your Expenses

Find the least expensive restaurants, or even those that offer free meals. Some hotels offer free breakfast along with the room, so calculate if you can save by staying in those. Also seek discounted car rentals if you do not have your own transportation, but determine first if they are reliable. You can ask the hotel management or employees for their recommendations, or canvass them via the phone.

Last, Budget your Gambling Money

If you want to gamble, set aside a definite amount to play with, and never go beyond it. The temptation is very great to delve into your other allocations hoping to recover losses, but remember that in gambling, the odds are most often stacked for the banker so unless you are incredibly and regularly lucky, you will lose all given enough time.

Most losers were so greedy they didn’t know when to stop so set also a definite amount of winnings to quit. When you have won that, leave the table, count your blessings, and do not play at some other game unless you have planned your loss and win amounts, preferably only with half your winnings so you take home at least part of your treasure trove.

So, Las Vegas vacation? Why not?
