Top Snowbird Destinations: The Winter Season in Florida is Sunny

While families can enjoy days in the snow sculpting men out of snowballs and sledding down park slopes, there are those who also aren’t particularly appreciative of the harsh and bleak winter conditions. So if you live in the north and are considering a vacation in the south for the winter season, it may be well worth looking no farther afield than Florida for that holiday break.

One of the top Snowbird locations, Florida isn’t hampered by more exotic regions of the globe as the locals speak English – usually as their first language – and the dollar is the currency so you don’t need to burden your wallet with traveler’s checks or go searching the streets for an ATM that recognizes your card. Florida’s climate is warm for the entire year, and the hottest months are at the peak of summer, so you won’t be burned to a crisp as the winter heat is tolerable. It’s warm enough for a swim and its beaches are beautiful. There’s also plenty to do in Florida.

Fishing can be done in Fort Lauderdale, Tampa Bay, Miami, and the Florida Keys. Anglers consider Florida as a haven when it comes to fishing. You may get lucky and score a big fish, and the great thing is the crystal clear waters of the area mean that you may even watch the fish grabbing hold of your hook.

Orlando is world famous as a resort with many tourist attractions. Along with East Coast cities like New York and Boston, and California in the west, it’s a big draw for Europeans. Satisfy your inner kid by paying a visit to the Walt Disney World. Better yet, if you have kids, bring them along. With its four huge parks, it is home to an ever changing array of shows and rides, with attractions that can cater for each and every family member. Its shops and restaurants are also well worth taking in. The Universal Orlando Resort is a second place well worth visiting. With its top class hotels you can stay in the lap of luxury. You can satisfy your most decadent gastronomic needs in its restaurants. The night life is also great, with some great clubs to check out. Movie buffs will also enjoy the Universal Studio at the Universal Orlando Resort.

Miami is home to great nightlife and its Miami Beach is known throughout the world. Watersports available include sky surfing, wakeboarding, parasailing, and jet skiing.

Daytona International Speedway is a home to some great stock car racing. Whether you’re a racing fan or you just want to spend a day at the races, it’s a great way to spend your time in Florida.

Known as the Sunshine State for good reason, Florida is home to some major sun-themed events and attractions. Catering for both watersports and motorsports enthusiasts, it’s also a state perfect for a family vacation with its many amusement parks and roller coasters.

So you’ll have lots of fun wintering in Florida.

With its year round warm weather, visiting offpeak season will mean you are not overwhelmed with the crowds.
